'We are far from the great Kylian Mbappe' – Christophe Dugarry sensationally claims PSG stars 'compensated' for 'average' French forward in Champions League win over Barcelona despite his two-goal showing

PSG booked their place in the semi-finals of the Champions League on Wednesday with a 4-1 win over Barcelona to complete a 6-4 aggregate victory. Goals from Ousmane Dembele and Vitinha had put PSG back on level terms in the tie after Ronald Araujo had been sent off for Barcelona, before two strikes from Mbappe dumped Barca out of the competition.

Barca managed to largely nullify Mbappe in the first leg and kept him quiet again at Montjuic until he fired PSG into the lead in the tie from the penalty spot. Another goal late on put the icing on the cake for the visitors, but Mbappe's display was not enough to impress Dugarry, who had accused Mbappe of betraying PSG with his first-leg showing.

WHAT DUGARRY SAID

The French World Cup winner told RMC Sport: "I say that he played his match. He was in his match. I felt him concerned, applied. I felt him invested. Afterwards, we are far from the great Kylian Mbappe. We are far from these great performances. But this is not most serious in these type of matches, because his team-mates were able to be up to the task, some more than up to the task of compensating for an average Mbappe currently. I don't see him making any difference when dribbling with the ball, he hasn't made any difference for several weeks."
