According to Voetbal International, Major League Soccer side San Diego FC have reportedly launched a bid to sign the Feyenoord and Mexico sensation Gimenez in the summer. The American side, however, will face competition from clubs like AC Milan, Tottenham Hotspur, Atletico Madrid and Spartak Moscow in their transfer pursuit of the striker.

Gimenez enjoyed a rich vein of form in the Netherlands in the 2023/24 campaign as he ended the season as the league's third-highest scorer with 23 goals to his name in 30 appearances. He also contributed with six assists. The 23-year-old, however, failed to replicate his performance in international football. In the ongoing Copa America, the attacker did not score a single goal as the Mexicans crashed out of the group stage.
