An account on X claimed that Bradley Barcola was offside in the build-up to Ousmane Dembele's early goal in the second leg of the last-16 tie, which went on to extra time and a penalty shootout as a result with the aggregate score at 1-1, with PSG triumphing on spot-kicks to book their place in the quarter-finals. The account stated that the semi-automated offside replay has not been shown by broadcasters.

However, ESPN's Dale Johnson has shared the semi-automated offside video on X, adding that the graphic was shown by Amazon at half-time. The replay shows that Barcola was just played onside by Liverpool's Virgil van Dijk before Dembele's 12th-minute strike, which put the French side 1-0 up in the game and levelled the tie at 1-1 on aggregate.
