Liverpool boss Arne Slot has confirmed he will ensure Federico Chiesa makes enough Premier League appearances to receive a winner's medal.

Chiesa has made four Premier League appearances this season and needs one more to receive a medal, which Slot has confirmed he will make sure happens. The Italian was included in Liverpool's squad at Chelsea on Sunday to give the Reds boss the option to bring him on, with Ryan Gravenberch making way.

Slot told Sky Sports: "He's on four games and I heard in this country you need five games to get a medal. He deserves one, and will definitely be on the pitch in the next four games, if not all of the next four games."

Chiesa has struggled for game time since signing for Liverpool from Juventus last summer, playing just 12 times in all competitions. A return to Serie A this summer has been mooted.
